The collection consists of correspondence (1910-1942), music programs (1905-1939), newspaper clippings (1914-1943), and miscellaneous yearbooks, pamphlets, photographs, and post cards. It reflects much of the history of the musical scene in Fort Worth prior to World War II.

Samuel Losh was born in Lebo, Pennsylvania, in 1884. He graduated from high school in Hagerstown, Maryland, and had his musical education at the Leipzig Conservatory. He became the organist and music director of the Broadway Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, and later served on the board of directors of the Fort Worth Symphony.
